about

During the summer of 2003 my brother built his own PC. It had a decent soundcard for that time. I was still recording on portastudios at this point. My girlfriend had bought some bongos from a music store on a trip to Glasgow. I had written this song that to me seemed half psychedelic, half folky like Simon & Garfunkel. I started messing around on the bongos and found a rhythm for the song and built it from there, adding the rest spontaneously, so recorded it all through my brother's soundcard on his PC. I always meant to re-record it properly with better instrumentation and will one day.

lyrics

Go quietly
Go quietly
All things come all things go
And tender my young trap in fields of grey and gold

Suddenly
Oh suddenly
Leaves were green now they're gone
And by a miracle the earth begins to show

Colours are everywhere
In green and gold and all things old
Swim by the restaurant but this time you won't catch it till it falls

Restless heart come back to bed
Put out the lights don't look back
And in another scene you begin to cry
All for the hopelessness of watching them go by

Colours are everywhere
In green and gold and all things old
Swim by the restaurant but this time you won't catch it till it falls
