Another of the Balcarres Street Demos, the title "October Rose" came from a calendar which was on the wall in the Balcarres Street apartment I was living in during 2005. As I looked up in the middle of writing the song in October 2005, looking back at me was a painting of a huge wooden ship with the sail in the shape of a rose.

The song deals with feeling slightly lost and never quite being where you want to be but at the same time feeling as if you are being carried along in life by some mysterious force. This recording took place between 2018 and 2020.
